The magician shows four "baby cards" with blue backs, depicting tadpoles, a caterpillar, a chick, and a dragonfly larva. He then shows the "parent cards" with red backs, featuring a frog, a butterfly, a chicken, and a dragonfly. The magician asks the children, "What do you see on this card?" while showing the caterpillar card, and the children reply, "Caterpillar!" He continues, "What is this mother?" and the children answer, "Butterfly!"
After explaining each parent-child relationship, the magician places one "baby card" face down so that the children cannot see it and asks them to choose one card from the "parent cards." Miraculously, the chosen card perfectly matches the "baby card" the magician had set aside. No special techniques or forces are needed, making it easy for anyone to perform.
